Tip #1 - Choose the Right Camera

The Good News: You do NOT have to buy a $1,000 (or even $500) camera; you do NOT have to lug around a heavy camera and a case full of lenses, filters and an unwieldy tripod; and you definitely do NOT have to be a professional photographer to get great pictures.  The important thing is to have a camera suited to your comfort and ability level.
Most people buy cameras with all kinds of features they will never use.  That is fine as long as you don't pay extra for them.  If you are just going to continue to use your camera on the automatic setting, you are not going to get better pictures because you buy a more expensive camera.  You will get better pictures using the camera you already have and following some of the tips in this blog.  For those who are looking for a new camera, I have a few considerations for you too.
